Padel Americano: FAQs
What to expect on the day
What is a Padel Americano?
An Americano is a rotating padel format where partners and opponents change after every match, ensuring you should play alongside and against every other attendee across the session. It's the perfect format for networking — by the end you'll have shared a court with everyone in the room.
What should I bring?
Comfortable sports clothing and trainers suitable for court use. Please bring your own racquet if you have one — we'll have a couple spare racquets available and will cover any additional hire costs if needed, whilst also provide balls. We'd also recommend bringing business cards to exchange during and after the session.
What happens when I arrive?
Our friendly team will be on hand to greet you in the café/reception area on arrival. To make the most of the session, please aim to arrive promptly — with a 90-minute slot and plenty to fit in, an on-time start makes all the difference. Once the courts are available you'll be invited to warm up for 5 minutes — a great opportunity to meet your fellow attendees before the matches begin.
What format do the sessions follow?
Matches are played to the best of 16 points, with each player serving 4 points in a row. Players rotate left to right on court after each serve, with serve passing between teams. After each match, return to the top of the court and give your score to our team — once both courts have finished, the next matches will be announced.
How does the networking element work?
Before each match starts, we encourage partners to give a quick introduction to what they do or the company they represent. It's a natural and relaxed way to make connections on court — by the end of the session you'll know exactly who you've been playing with and what they do.
What if there are more players than court spaces?
At capacity, two players will sit off each round — a perfect opportunity to grab a snack, have a chat, and learn more about a fellow attendee's business before heading back on court.
Will refreshments be provided?
Yes — we'll provide light refreshments between matches to keep you fuelled throughout the session. Additional drinks and snacks are also available through the venue café and vending machine if needed.
Are there prizes?
Yes! At the end of the session we'll read out the final standings and award prizes accordingly. The good news? Everyone is guaranteed to be a winner, so make sure you stick around for the presentation!
Is there an opportunity to network after the session?
Absolutely — we'd encourage you to stick around after the session for a drink and a chat. It's a great opportunity to follow up on conversations started on court and swap contact details in a relaxed setting. The venue café is right on hand for exactly that.
Something has come up — can I cancel my place?
We understand things happen. A full refund is available if you cancel at least 24 hours before the session start time. Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable. To cancel, please get in touch via net-working.net.
